Shu-En Lim, Au.D.
Dr. Shu-En Lim is the Clinical Director of Audiology for the Hearing and Balance Center. She received her Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University and her Doctor of Audiology from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Lim is a licensed dispensing audiologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, the American Board of Audiology and the American Speech- Language-Hearing Association. She has experience in pediatric and adult diagnostic evaluations and rehabilitation, including hearing aids and cochlear implants, vestibular assessments, tinnitus counseling and auditory rehabilitation.
Rupa Balachandran, Ph.D.
Dr. Rupa Balachandran is the director of the Doctor of Audiology program at the University of the Pacific. She obtained her Ph.D. in speech and hearing sciences at the City University of New York. Dr. Balachandran has presented at several national meetings on the topics of central auditory processing and speech perception by hearing-impaired individuals. She was president of the California Academy of Audiology and is a licensed dispensing audiologist.
Kenneth Billheimer, Au.D.
Dr. Kenneth Billheimer is an audiologist at the University of the Pacific Hearing & Balance Center. He received his master’s degree in audiology from California State University at Fresno and his Doctor of Audiology from Arizona School of Health Science. Dr. Billheimer has worked as an audiologist with the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps, Kaiser Hospital in Fontana and his own a private practice in Pleasanton. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Chapman College, University of Redlands and California State University at East Bay. Dr. Billheimer specializes in adult and adolescent audiology with an emphasis on management of hearing loss and amplification.
Joe Hu, Ph.D., Au.D
Dr. Jiong “Joe” Hu is a licensed audiologist at the University of the Pacific Hearing and Balance Center. He earned both his Ph.D. and Au.D. from Ohio University. Dr. Hu is a fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and American Academy of Audiology. In addition to his clinical research activities he specializes in adult diagnostic evaluations and rehabilitation, auditory electrophysiological assessments, hearing aids and management of hearing loss and vestibular assessment.
Marta Kebede, Program Assistant
Marth Kebede is the audiology clinic services assistant at the University of the Pacific Hearing and Balance Center. Marta received her bachelor’s degree in neurobiology, physiology and behavior at the University of California at Davis. She is excited to begin her career at the University of the Pacific and be part of such an amazing team.
Bob Hanyak, Au.D.
Dr. Bob Hanyak is an associate professor of audiology and chair of the department of speech-language pathology at the University of the Pacific. Dr. Hanyak is a fellow of both the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology as well as the recipient of several university teaching awards. His areas of clinical interest are aural rehabilitation, amplification and pediatric diagnostic audiology.
Gail Amornpongchai, Au.D.
Dr. Amornpongchai is the clinical director of audiology for the Stockton Hearing and Balance Center. She received her Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University and her clinical doctorate degree in audiology from Vanderbilt University. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She enjoys working with both adult and pediatric patients and is highly skilled and knowledgeable in all areas of diagnostic evaluation and hearing aid technology. She also specializes in the evaluation of patients with dizziness and balance disorders. Dr. Amornpongchai speaks both English and Thai.
Stephanie Raval, Au.D.
Dr. Stephanie Raval is an audiologist at the University of the Pacific Hearing & Balance Center. She earned her Doctor of Audiology degree at University of California at San Diego and San Diego State University. She received additional clinical training at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford and Children’s Choice for Hearing and Talking (CCHAT) center. Dr. Raval is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
Lily Lye, Hearing Specialist
Lily Lye is the hearing specialist at the University of the Pacific Hearing and Balance Center. She assists with the testing, fitting and programming of the hearing aids in order to ensure patients receive the best devices for their type and degree of hearing loss.
